President Bola Tinubu is set to leave Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, for Lagos on Sunday ahead of Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
News About Nigeria reports that the announcement came through a statement released by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, on Saturday.
During Eid-el-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, President Tinubu will join in prayers for Nigeria and spend time with his family, respecting the significance of the occasion.
“The President will continue official duties during and after the Eid-el-Fitr holidays,” the statement added.
Before taking leave, President Tinubu appointed Uzoma Nwagba as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP).
This appointment, disclosed in a statement on Friday by Ajuri Ngelale, said it aligns with the President’s commitment to enhancing financial inclusion and economic prosperity for Nigerians.
Uzoma Nwagba is a 36-year-old man who holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a first-class bachelor’s degree in engineering from Howard University, Washington, DC.
Before this role, Nwagba served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Bank of Industry, overseeing micro-credit and financial interventions. He also has experience in investment and software engineering.
President Tinubu’s most recent holiday visit to Lagos was in December 2023, when he left Abuja to celebrate Christmas and the New Year break.
This marked his first Christmas celebration since taking office as President of Nigeria on May 29, 2023.
Before his presidency, Tinubu served as the Governor of Lagos State for eight years, from 1999 to 2007.
