The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Corps Marshall, Dauda Biu, has congratulated Christians on the celebration of Easter this year, News About Nigeria reports.
He gave his congratulatory message on Saturday, stating that the Corps celebrates with Christians all over the country.
He noted that the Easter period is a time to offer special prayers for the country, adding that the Corps is committed to sustaining its present successes in road crash reduction.
In the message signed by the Corps Public Education Officer, Jonas Agwu, the FRSC boss, however, urged motorists and other road users to adhere to the laid-down road safety measures during the Easter celebration, maintaining that this will prevent the loss of lives and properties if taken seriously.
“As Christian faithful across the globe celebrate Easter, a day set aside to mark the resurrection of Jesus Christ from death, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Dauda Biu, has congratulated all Christians across the country.
“Biu urged the motoring public to imbibe the teachings and lessons of love and compassion that surround the Holy Week and the purpose of the resurrection of Christ.
“The wanton destruction of lives and properties on the nation’s highways resulting from people’s impatience would be avoided if people properly imbibed the exemplary life of Jesus Christ,” he stated.
He further cautioned members of the public against jettisoning the rules of traffic in the course of the celebration but enjoined them to continue to observe the rules in order to build on the gains so far made by the corps’ in its mission to make the highways safer for all to use.
