The All Progressives Congress (APC) felicitated Christians in the country on Friday in celebration of this year’s Easter, News About Nigeria reports.
The National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, who spoke on behalf of the party, also urged Christians across the country to show willingness to make sacrifices for Nigeria in the spirit of Easter.
He further tasked them to give themselves to prayer for unity, peace, political stability, and prosperity in the country.
This was contained in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, in Abuja.
The former Kano state governor further charged Christians to seize the opportunity of the Easter holiday to reflect on what they need to do as a people to ensure that the current political and security situation in the country witnesses a turnaround for the better.
In his own words, “This year’s celebration of Easter is taking place at a period of very critical national history during which all must be prepared and willing to make sacrifices for greater unity, peace, political stability and progress in our beloved country. May this day of reflection and sacrifice inspire unity, peace, and harmony across the country. Let us uphold the values of love, compassion, and empathy towards one another.”
Ganduje also called on Nigerians, irrespective of their religious and political affiliations, to support the President Bola Tinubu-led government, as he is working tirelessly towards addressing the current economic challenges.
The APC chieftain further noted that the current hardship is temporary and will soon be a thing of the past.
