The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and his queen, Olori Tobi, have welcomed twins into the royal family, News About Nigeria reports.
The news of the royal twins’ arrival was shared by Ooni himself on his verified Instagram account.
According to the monarch, Olori Tobi successfully gave birth to a prince and princess on Saturday, marking a momentous occasion for the House of Oduduwa.
Expressing his gratitude, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi attributed the twins’ birth to the greatness of God, extending hearty congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and Queen Olori Tobiloba.
In his Instagram post, Ooni stated, “To God be the glory, great things he has done. Hearty congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and Olori Tobiloba, who today birthed a prince and princess to the royal throne of Oduduwa. Mother and children are doing well to the glory of God Almighty.”

Meanwhile, the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, is set to be crowned as the next Olubadan of Ibadanland, pending the approval of the state governor, Seyi Makinde, following the passing of the 42nd Olubadan, Oba Lekan Balogun, on Thursday.
According to reports, Oba Olakulehin, who heads the Balogun line, is next in line to succeed the late monarch.
Born on October 18, 1942, News About Nigeria reported that Oba Balogun reigned for two years before his demise.
Confirming the death of Oba Balogun, Governor Makinde, in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, announced that the monarch passed away at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.
The late Olubadan was laid to rest according to Islamic rites on Friday at 4 pm.
