Arewa Group Displeased With Ningi’s Suspension

Senator Abdul Ningi has stated that there is a threat of arresting him by the  Senate over his allegation of padding in the 2024 appropriation budget to the tune of N3.7 trillion, News About Nigeria reports.

He disclosed this while speaking in an interview on Arise Television.

Recall that the Senator suspended Ningi for three months for claiming that projects worth N3.7 trillion in the 2024 budget were untraceable.

The 2024 budget has been a subject of controversy, with Senator Abdul Ningi alleging that the Senate padded the 2024 budget to the tune of N3.7 trillion.
In an interview with BBC Hausa, Senator Ningi claimed that the Federal Government is operating two versions of the 2024 budget and that the N28.7 trillion budget passed and signed into law by President Tinubu was skewed against the North.

However, reacting to this, Ningi stated that no one could control the can of worms he had opened, stressing that he knows the Senate well, having come a long way and will therefore not be silent.

“Have they ever asked me since the beginning of this so-called crisis, where are your findings? Where are the documents? I’m not using my head to come up with figures.

“Nobody has talked to me about evidence. Nobody has suggested even listening to me. All they are trying to do is to ensure that ‘how do we make sure that Ningi is silenced or arrested so that he doesn’t do anything?’

“I have opened this can of worms. Neither they nor I will be able to control it,” he said.
