AI Can Help Fight Insecurity - Expert To FG

A software expert, Mr. Chinemelu Ezeh, has stated that artificial intelligence (AI) can tackle insecurity and should be utilised by the federal government, News About Nigeria reports.

Ezeh stated this while speaking in an interview with newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja, noting that the country is perfectly suitable for AI.

He noted that, if well utilised, the nation will benefit immensely from AI, and the various sectors will be enhanced for optimal delivery.

Ezeh added that AI, which has evolved, is a technological tool that is capable of carrying out tasks the same way or even better than humans do.

The expert maintained that with AI, using a smartphone, a listening system could be installed to look out for certain keywords the attackers use against Abuja residents who might become victims of ‘one chance, adding that if the attackers in the vehicle say aggressive things or use those keywords or phrases, then it automatically deletes the victim’s sensitive information.

“It then alerts the service agents to where the victim is, because a lot of times the attackers want your phone and want to transfer money from it.

“However, if you don’t have anything on you, you are more or less safe, so that’s actually something that can work,” he said.

He further added that the use of drones is also important and will go a long way in being of help to the military in the country.

He noted that with drones, digital assets and maritime assets can be monitored, maintaining that it is cheaper than using helicopters to try to safeguard these assets.
