IPOB Rejects Establishment Of Cattle Ranch For Fulani Herdsmen In Enugu

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, have rejected the plan of the Enugu State government to establish a cattle ranch for Fulani herdsmen in the state, News About Nigeria reports.

The pro- Biafra group disclosed this in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, simply identified as Emma.

They noted that the governor, Peter Mbah, must refrain from such act if he wants to have a peaceful and smooth administration.

Recall that the governor had revealed plans to establish cattle ranch at Nimbo in Uzowani community of Enugu State.

The group however promised to stop any attempt by Governor Mbah or any other governor from the zone from establishing a cattle ranch for people who will eventually turn around to kill Ndigbo, stating that some South East Governors, allegedly trade the comfort of their people for selfish political interest.

“The Mbah-led Enugu State government, in connivance with some community leaders, have mapped out some community lands in Enugu State, to be sold to terrorists Fulanis claiming to be herdsmen. The names of the community leaders in such connivance will be made public soon,” the statement reads in part.

They reiterated that they had earlier on, in November 2023, released a press statement raising an alarm over plans by Governor Peter Mbah, to sell some community’s land to Fulani bandits to establish RUGA in return for political favours.

They however warned the governor that they will be monitoring his movements concerning the issue and will ensure that his plans do not come to fruition.
