The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hussaini Gumel, has assured the first lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, of maximum security during her visit to the state, News About Nigeria reports.
He made this known while speaking with newsmen on Saturday in the state, stating that all is set ahead of the first lady’s visit to the state on Monday.
He noted that security personnel have been deployed to the state, and the command is ready to boost the existing security efforts to ensure a seamless visit to Kano.
While assuring the people that the security agents were on a red alert, Gumel added that an effective operational order on how to provide security at each of the places that the First Lady was expected to visit has since been issued to the officers deployed for that purpose, and he will ensure everything goes according to plan.
“We have mobilised sufficient armed personnel to provide security cover for our First Lady before, during, and after the visit,” he said.
Gumel further noted that the command had already embarked on “Operation Show Force’’ with other security agencies to show its preparedness for the visit, maintaining that the measures were aimed at giving the residents of the state the opportunity to welcome the first lady and her entourage without any security threat.
He therefore cautioned the people against any form of violence or thuggery before, during, and after the visit, stating that it would not be tolerated and offenders would be punished accordingly.
