President Bola Tinubu has encouraged Nigerians to maintain a positive outlook on the country because that optimism will eventually lead to success, News About Nigeria reports.
The President made these remarks during the launch of 3,112 housing units under the Renewed Hope Cites initiative in the Federal Capital Territory.
Speaking in his first public appearance after a two-week private visit to Paris, Tinubu urged citizens to speak positively about the country and remain hopeful despite the various challenges it faces, including economic hardship, inflation, rising cases of kidnapping-for-ransom, and a weakening local currency.
The president’s call for optimism comes on the heels of recent protests in various parts of the country, including Minna, Kano, and Ondo, where citizens expressed concerns about the rising cost of living.
In his keynote speech, Tinubu urged Nigerians not to dwell on negativity but to look forward and believe in the country’s potential for greatness.
Tinubu mentioned the importance of shelter, describing it as a fundamental right and the government’s responsibility to its citizens.
He commended the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development for its efforts in achieving the Renewed Hope mandate for housing and urban development.
The President also applauded the ministry for involving the private sector through public-private partnership arrangements.
In his closing remarks, Tinubu pledged his commitment to the country’s economic prosperity and development, urging Nigerians to be hopeful and assured that the nation would excel in all ramifications.
“We are confident that this country will excel in all ramifications. We will defend our unity and uphold our honor and glory in every way possible. Because we are Nigerians, and we have no other country,” President Tinubu said.
