Fubara Sacks Awuse, Appoints Wodo As New Chairman Of Rivers Traditional Council

The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has warned critics of his administration not to drive away potential investors from the state with their criticisms, News About Nigeria reports.

The governor gave this warning while inspecting the extent of work done at the ongoing 6.5-kilometer Woji-Aleto-Alesa-Refinery Link Road project on Tuesday.

He noted that portraying the state in a bad light will not only damage political activities in the state but will eventually have a negative effect and destroy the economic fortunes of the state.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Boniface Onyedi, Fubara noted that true lovers of the state remain patriotic and refrain from engaging in damaging political activities that will chase away investors who are expected to add to the economic prosperity of the state.

According to him, the news that people hear about the state should not only be bad news; he added that people should see the good parts of the state and promote the image of Rivers State.

“Whatever we are doing or whoever is sponsoring anything negative is not doing it to the person of Governor Fubara; they are using it to run down the state,” he said.

Fubara further stated that no sound and serious investor will, after hearing negative stories about the state, still feel comfortable coming to the state to invest.

He therefore urged the people to continue to project the good side of the state.

Speaking on the project, Fubara maintained that in the next three months, the road should be ready.
