NSCDC Arrests 3 Suspects For Gangrape Of Minor In Ibadan

Operatives of the Taraba State Police Command have arrested a suspected kidnapper after rejecting an N8.5 million bribe from him, News About Nigeria reports.

Taraba State Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo, disclosed this while parading some suspected criminals.

He noted that the arrest was made by a team of mobile police officers attached to the 40 Police Mobile Force in Jalingo on Monday around 9:45 p.m. in a Toyota Starlet with registration number YLA 321 ZY along the Jalingo-Yola bypass road.

He stated that upon interrogation, the suspect failed to give a coherent and satisfactory account of himself, which led the team to search his vehicle, adding that items including four amulets, seven phones; three thousand unused recharge cards, and the sum of N8.5 million were discovered.

He disclosed that the suspect had bribed the officers of the Mobile Police Force, requesting them to take the whole money and allow him to go, but the PMF personnel refused and arrested him accordingly.

He commended the officers for their integrity and commitment to fighting insecurity and restoring peace in the country, noting that it is their duty and they have carried it out excellently.

He, however, noted that the case is under investigation, and the suspect will soon be charged in court and made to face the consequences.
