The Facebook user, identified as Agozi Samuel, who lied against comedian Ayo Makun, also known as AY, accusing him of being responsible for the marital crisis of actor Yul Edochie, has apologised, News About Nigeria reports.
Recall that Samuel made a publication on his Facebook Comedy page on Saturday, accusing the actor of having an extramarital affair with May Edochie, the wife of actor Yul Edochie, and hence being responsible for the marital crisis between the couple.
In response on Monday, AY Makun filed a petition against Samuel, calling on the police to arrest and prosecute the Facebook user for the malicious and false statements designed to destroy his reputation, career, ambition and relationships.
However, a few hours after AY shared his petition, Samuel shared a video on his Facebook account appealing to the comedian to forgive him.
According to him, what he did was done as a result of hunger and depression, adding that he did so to trend as his page has been experiencing a low turnout in engagement.
“Comedian AY, I’m very sorry for everything that happened. I’m begging you that whatever thing I did, I did it out of hunger.
“I was depressed. On my page, people don’t follow me. People don’t watch my skits, so I needed to do something to trend, that was why,” he said.
He further stated that he had deleted the video from his page, and had also made a public announcement that the video was fake and nothing that was said was true.
He maintained that he did it to trend and gain popularity.
He added that life in Sierra Leone has been hard and he didn’t want to come back to Nigeria empty-handed and so did it to make some money.
