The Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has commended his deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami, stating that he is a capable hand in the government, News About Nigeria reports.
The governor said that while responding to the speculations of various people as to why he chose Adelami to be his deputy.
Recall that the governor had appointed Dr. Olayide Adelami as Deputy and Mr. Tayo Oluwatuyi as Secretary to the State Government.
While meeting with both appointees at the Government House, Akure, on Friday, for the first time after their appointment, Aiyedatiwa maintained that it was the right thing done by his administration.
He noted that they were highly qualified for the job and were well-equipped to carry out the responsibilities entrusted to them.
He added that it was time for a deputy governor to come on board, as the responsibilities have been immense.
He further stated that the duo had begun their duties, stating that it was confirmation that he made the right choice for both positions.
Before he was appointed deputy governor, Adelami was a former deputy clerk of the National Assembly, and Oluwatuyi was a former member of the dissolved state Executive Council.
The governor also disclosed that he has been receiving calls and messages from notable personalities, including traditional rulers and religious leaders in the state, commending the appointment of the deputy and SSG.
Recall that Aiyedatiwa had earlier dissolved the State Executive Council, sacking all the political appointees that were appointed by the former governor, Late Rotimi Akeredolu.
