The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) revealed on Tuesday that the commission is currently not recruiting, News About Nigeria reports.
In a statement signed by the Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Dele Oyewale, which was shared on its official X account, the anti-graft agency warned Nigerians and applicants not to fall prey to fraudsters.
According to the statement, the commission discovered that some fraudsters have put up recruitment advertisements that they have linked to the EFCC, but they are not recruiting at the moment.
The commission further enjoined the public to ignore any information concerning recruitment that was not shared on their official website and social media handles, as such is the handiwork of fraudsters and criminals.
Oyewale also stated that operatives of the EFCC are carrying out proper investigations to arrest the fraudsters.
An X user, @dollars442 in reaction to the statement shared by the anti-graft agency asked about a supposed training message from the EFCC to applicants.
“What about the training message that is being sent to applicants through HRU is it also scam?,” he asked.
In response, the Commission asked him and others who have applied to disregard such messages as it did not emanate from them.
“Greetings, Please ignore any ‘training message’ you may have received, as it did not originate from the EFCC. It is important to emphasize that the EFCC is currently not conducting any recruitment. Best regards.”
Also reacting to the statement shared by the anti-graft agency, another X user, @abiodunpeter14 queried why the commission is currently not recruiting.
He further accused them of replacing those who have retired with their family and friends stating; “What really going on in all the ministries, department and agencies of govt of Nigeria are you telling us no one is retiring from service again? You are just doing internal replacement with your families no advertisement no recruitment what is the benefit of the common men,” he queried.
