The Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, Umar Shehu Nadada, has stated that he will prioritise the safety of the lives and properties of the residents of the state and neighbouring communities, News About Nigeria reports.
He made this known in a statement signed and issued by the police command Public Relations Officer, DSP Ranham Nansel, stating that he will ensure the people have adequate protection even as the Supreme Court gears to deliver its judgement.
He also noted that in preparation for the Supreme Court judgement, police operatives and vigilantes have been deployed to identified areas surrounding the state and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in a proactive move to prevent issues of insecurity from escalating.
Nadada further disclosed that directives have been given to Area Commanders New Karu, Keffi, and Nasarawa and all Divisional Police officers under them to mobilise their security personnel and Vigilantes and also ensure they partner with the traditional rulers, community leaders, and sister security agencies to dominate the areas and keep the people safe.
He urged security operatives to remain civil to members of the public, maintaining that no laxity or unprofessional conduct would be tolerated.
Addressing the public, he urged them to be vigilant and report suspicious activities or emergencies to the police and other sister agencies.
Nadada further assured residents of the state that the police command is working tirelessly to provide an impregnable security architecture in the state.
He added that he will ensure that their safety is being looked after.
