Army To Hold Shooting Practice In Kaduna

The Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, has stated that it will be holding its shooting practice in the Mando, Tsamiya, Kauya and Afaka general areas of the state, News About Nigeria reports. 

The Academy made this known in a statement by its Public Relations Officer, Maj. Mohammed Maidawa, stating that the exercise is for the Army cadets of 71 Regular Course of the nation’s foremost military university.

Maidawa further disclosed that the Range Management Package for Army Cadets of 71 Regular Course, which necessitated the practice will be holding from the 9th of  January to the 2nd of February 2024 at NDA Open Range Afaka.

He assured residents of the communities where the shooting practice will be holding that the necessary precautions will be taken to ensure that they are safe and the exercise is conducted successfully, adding that there was no need for them to panic.

He, however urged the public not to trespass during the period of the practice and ensure they stay away from the designated areas where the practice will be held.

The statement read in part; “The exercise is scheduled to be held between The NDA assures the general public that all necessary safety measures have been put in place for the successful conduct of the exercise.

“However, we advise the general public to avoid trespassing in the general area throughout the period of the exercise.

Maidawa maintained that the practice was necessary as it will train the officers who will be protecting the lives and properties of Nigerians.
