Zack Orji Opens Up On Health Struggles

In response to recent reports suggesting that the National Hospital Abuja referred popular actor Zack Orji to a private hospital against its medical advice, the hospital has provided clarity on the matter, News About Nigeria reports.

Contrary to the insinuations, the National Hospital Abuja claimed that it did not refer Zack Orji to a private hospital.

According to the hospital’s spokesman, Tayo Haastrup, the actor was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) upon arrival at the hospital on New Year’s Eve.

The medical team at the National Hospital stabilised him in preparation for brain surgery.

However, complications arose when Zack Orji’s relatives decided to move him to a private hospital, despite the hospital’s medical advice.

The statement said that the actor’s condition was such that he required surgery, and the hospital was making the necessary preparations for the procedure.

The hospital further clarified that the actor’s relatives signed a form titled ‘Leaving Against Medical Advice’ on January 1, 2024, obstructing the scheduled surgery and resulting in his transfer to the private hospital.

The statement from the National Hospital Abuja reads, “To set the record straight, the actor, who was brought in on New Year’s Eve and admitted to the intensive care unit, was stabilised by the National Hospital Abuja and moved to the ENT ward. Later in the day, he was transferred to the orthopaedic ward, where our surgeons began preparing him for surgery.”

Despite the challenges posed by the decision to move Zack Orji to another medical facility, the National Hospital Abuja expressed its commitment to the actor’s well-being, stating, “Nevertheless, the management of the National Hospital Abuja wishes him a speedy recovery.”
