President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians of quality governance in the new year, stating that there will be no room for underperformance in his government, News About Nigeria reports.
Tinubu made this known in a New Year address to the nation on Monday in Lagos, maintaining that excuses will not be tolerated by his appointees.
He noted that everyone in his cabinet and everyone handling any aspect of his government will work hard at their assigned duties and responsibilities and ensure that Nigerians get the best of his government in the new year.
He further disclosed that his administration has put together a new unit, the Policy Coordination, Evaluation, Monitoring, and Delivery Unit, to aid in improving the lives of the people.
According to him, the ministers and heads of agencies will have to show the results of their work in the first quarter of the year, stressing that there is no time for laziness in his government.
Tinubu however stated that because everyone was not created equal, there will not be equal outcomes, and therefore, there will be room for improvement.
He further revealed that his government is invested in seeing that Nigerians who work hard and diligently have a chance to get ahead in life and live a life that they can be proud of, adding that his government in this new year, will work to give every Nigerian an equal opportunity to strive and to thrive.
He therefore urged Nigerians to carry with them the attitude of gratitude, maintaining that the new year will be better than 2023.
