Former Rivers Commissioner Claims Wike Elevated Fubara To Governorship Status

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State and his immediate predecessor, Nyesom Wike, have reached an agreement to bring an end to the political crisis that has been rocking the state.

The breakthrough came after a meeting involving President Bola Tinubu and other key stakeholders on Monday.

The agreement, outlined in an official document arising from the meeting, stipulates several key directives to restore political stability in Rivers State.

The agreement, outlined in an official document following the meeting, lays out a number of crucial guidelines to bring back political stability in Rivers State.

Among the directives, it was specified that all impeachment proceedings initiated against Governor Fubara by the Rivers State House of Assembly should be dropped immediately.

Furthermore, the document instructs that all legal matters instituted by Governor Fubara and his team relating to the political crisis in the state ‘shall be withdrawn IMMEDIATELY’.

The 27 members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who resigned should be acknowledged, as well as the leadership of the Rivers State House of Assembly, which is headed by the Rt Hon. Martin Amaewhule.

Additional directives include the immediate reinstatement of remunerations and benefits for all members of the Rivers State House of Assembly and their staff, without interference from the Governor.

The executive arm of government is not allowed to interfere with the Assembly’s decision to select a location for legislative proceedings.

In addition, names of all Rivers State Executive Council commissioners who resigned over the political crisis must be resubmitted to the House of Assembly for approval, and Governor Fubara is required to present the state budget to a duly elected Rivers State House of Assembly.

The paper states, among other important things, that the dissolution of the Local Government administration is void and that the local governments in Rivers State do not need a caretaker committee.
