Six commissioners, including the commissioner of justice and Attorney General, Prof. Zacchaeus Adangor (SAN), have resigned from the cabinet of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
News About Nigeria gathered that the Wike loyalists, who served under his administration, tendered their resignation letters on Thursday.
This comes after the Wike loyalists and Fubara loyalists held separate sittings on Thursday.
Recall that Fubara on Wednesday, ordered the demolition of the state Assembly complex, while the four pro-Fubara lawmakers declared the seats of the 27 pro-Wike lawmakers vacant following their defection to the All Progressives Congress.
The governor had also presented the state’s 2024 budget to the lawmakers loyal to his administration and chaired by Edison Ehie on Wednesday.
The N800bn budget according to Fubara, was an indicator of the great plans he had for the state, adding that the actual and main Trans-Kalabari road project Phase 2, will commence immediately next year.
He maintained that no efforts would be spared in implementing to the full the planned quality projects and services itemised in the 2024 budget.
He further assured the people that his administration would continue to protect their interests, and ensure that everyone got the best out of his administration.
According to him, the Fubara administration is responsive and inclusive, with its eyes and ears, open to the needs of the people.
The commissioners, who tendered their resignations, are the Commissioner for Works, Dr Des George-Kelly; the Commissioner for Special Duties, Emeka Woke; the Commissioner for Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, Mrs. Inime Aguma; the Commissioner for Finance, Isaac Kamalu; and the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Chinedu Mmom.
