The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in the February 25 Presidential Election, Peter Obi, on Tuesday sympathised with the families of victims of the recent accidental military air strike that happened in Tudun Biri village in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
While consoling the families of the victims and praying for the repose of the deceased, the former Anambra State Governor called for a proper investigation into the bombing incident.
Peter Obi made the call when he visited the victims of the accidental airstrike at the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in Kaduna, the state capital.
Obi also charged the Federal Government to allocate sufficient funding to the military and other security agencies to enhance their operational efficiency.
The former Anambra state governor also lamented that, over the years, Nigeria has experienced 16 accidental military bombings, which have led to the deaths of over 500 people.
The Labour Party flagbearer further called on the federal government to establish a foundation to assist the victims of the attack.
He also suggested that the foundation be targeted at children who lost their parents and have been orphaned as a result of the incident.

Confirming the attack, which led to the deaths of over 100 civilians and left many injured, the General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army and Force Commander Operation Whirl Punch, Maj Gen VU Okoro, admitted that the Nigerian Army was on a routine mission against terrorists when the incident happened.
