PDP Condemns APC Governorship Primary Election In Ondo

A member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Enemi Alabo, has revealed why 27 lawmakers of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) dumped the party for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Alabo, who made the revelation during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, disclosed that the lawmakers left PDP because of the internal divisions and crisis in the party.

According to him, the crisis and the division in the party is as a result of the secretaryship of the party as the case is currently in court yet it is not in any way stopping the ongoing internal crisis.

He further lamented that, as a result of this constant ongoing crisis, as a member of the party, he sadly does not know who the secretary of the PDP in the state is.

He also stated that the crisis surrounding the party’s leadership, including the burning of the state’s assembly chambers and the intimidation of Governor Simnalayi Fubara, has torn the party apart in the state.

Alabo, who is part of the 27 lawmakers who defected to the APC, explained that the 27 of them who were tired of all the crises in the PDP, came together and planned their exit from the party because they could no longer continue to stay in the party.

News About Nigeria reported that, due to the ongoing crisis in the Rivers State House of Assembly, 27 lawmakers from the PDP defected to the opposition APC on Monday.

It was gathered that the lawmakers who abandoned the PDP for the APC are loyalists of the former governor of the state and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
