Ogun Govt Offers N50 Million Reward For Information On Finance Director's Murder

The Ogun State Government has said that it will give a N50 million reward to anyone with relevant information about the killers of the former Director of Finance and Administration, Taiwo Oyekanmi, who until his painful death was attached to Governor Dapo Abiodun’s office.

In a statement released by the state government on Friday, they announced that the sum of N50 million awaits anyone who could give information that would lead to the arrest of Oyekanmi’s killers.

The Ogun state government further promised anyone with relevant information to not desist from sharing because of fear as any information provided would be treated with utmost confidentiality.

News About Nigeria recalls that unknown gunmen suspected to be armed robbers had on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, shot dead Oyekanmi when he was coming back from the bank where he went to make withdrawals in a bullion van.

Oyekanmi who was reportedly gunned down on top of the NNPC Bridge was rushed to the State Hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta where he was pronounced dead.

The gunmen who killed the 51-year-old chartered accountant also made away with the money he went to withdraw.

While mourning the deceased, the Ogun state governor described the incident as a rude shock to him.

The Governor also described Oyekanmi’s death as a colossal loss for his administration, noting that the deceased was a dedicated, truthful, and diligent official who would be sorely missed by his relatives, colleagues and the government he meritoriously served till death.

It was also gathered that although the security agencies in the state have swung into investigation, they are yet to fish out the perpetrators of the heinous crime.
