A former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has urged the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in the February 25 Presidential Election to visit one of the schools he built as the Governor of Anambra state.
According to Omokri, this would serve as proof that he did indeed construct any schools in Anambra during his 8 years in office.
Omokri, who expressed this view in a post on his official X handle in response to Obi’s visit to his Alma Mater, Christ The King College, CKC, Onitsha, alleged that Obi could not visit any of the schools he built because he never constructed any schools in Anambra.
He said, “It is good that Peter Obi went to his Alma Mater, Christ The King College, Onitsha. Congratulations, sir. But can you go one step further? Please visit one school you built while you governed Anambra for eight years. Just one. Anyone will do. Peter, apart from the loss-making beer brewery, which school did you build with government money while you were governor?”
The former presidential aide also alleged that, unlike Obi, President Bola Tinubu built more than fifty new schools in Lagos state, while Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, also built multiple schools for the poor from his own private funds.
News About Nigeria reports that Obi visited the school to celebrate its 90th Founders Day Celebration.
The former Anambra State governor, in a post shared on his official X account, lauded the college for its unwavering impact on building the younger generation and for standing as a beacon of discipline, knowledge, moral integrity, and excellence.
