The presidency has stated that substantial progress has been made in the area of Nigeria’s security, News About Nigeria reports.
The Special Adviser to the President, Ajuri Ngelale, made this known while speaking in an interview on TVC on Sunday.
He stated that insecurity no longer ravages the country, as evidenced by the reduced discourse among Nigerians.
Ngelale also noted that the high rate of casualties across the countries that usually flooded the front cover pages of national newspapers has now been drastically reduced.
According to him, security no longer dominates discourse among Nigerians due to the actions of the government, adding that keeping the country safe is the foundation on which to build investors’ confidence.
Ngelale maintained that the progress made by President Bola Tinubu is the reason why much of the conversation in the country is focusing on things like the economy and political development.
This, he noted, is a testament to the fact that the national security situation in Nigeria has evolved to the extent that it is no longer the primary talking point in the country.
He recalled a time when all that was seen on the front pages of newspapers were teeming numbers of casualties in different parts of the country, from the middle belt to the north-east to the north-west to the south-east, and at some point, even with agitations in the south-west, stating that it is no longer so.
He further disclosed that the Tinubu-led administration is working tirelessly to ensure that more progress is made on the issue of insecurity so that Nigerians can live and do business in peace.
