The Federal Government has revealed that it will partner with the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, BPSR, to ensure the safety of the country’s borders from aliens, News About Nigeria reports.
The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made this known in a statement released on Saturday by the Director of Press of the Ministry, Afonja Ajibola. The statement emphasizes that the partnership aims to provide solutions to the nation’s security challenges, particularly in securing the borders.
The Minister also emphasized the federal government’s commitment to implementing measures that would put an end to the influx of illegal immigrants into the country and enhance national security. He highlighted the need to halt the era where aliens easily enter the country with fake travel documents.
Speaking further, Tunji assured Nigerians that he is diligently working to discover efficient and trustworthy ways to secure the country’s borders.
The Minister emphasized that putting a stop to the prolonged issue of illegal aliens entering the country is a top priority.
He also maintained that securing the country’s borders is crucial, stating that until this is achieved, the security of Nigerians cannot be guaranteed.
The Director of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Dasuki Arabi, noted that the Bureau is mandated by law to initiate, coordinate, and ensure the full implementation of federal government reform policies.
He further highlighted that public service reforms in Nigeria are anchored on four pillars, one of which is providing an enabling environment at both institutional and governmental levels to secure Nigeria.
