The Federal Government has commissioned not less than 15 motorized boreholes in 15 communities of Benue State sunk by the National Lottery Fund, News About Nigeria reports.

The Minister for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Mr Zephaniah Jisalo, who commissioned and handed over the boreholes on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, reiterated the commitment of the government to revitalizing the lottery industry, stating that enormous revenues will be raised from it.

He also noted that huge potential resided in the industry.

He revealed that the wealth generated from the industry has been used judiciously across states in Nigeria to better the lives of the people and make life easier for them.

He noted that the lottery has transformed societies across the world, including Nigeria, through the availing of infrastructural and other socio-economic development.

According to him, the lottery and gaming industry have great prospects for the country, especially with a population of over 200 million people and the largest economy in Africa.

Jisalo further assured the people that the boreholes were just a taste of what the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had in store for them, maintaining that the National Lottery Fund had proved that it was up to the task of its statutory mandate.

The Minister expressed his excitement at the fact that the boreholes will reduce the spread of diseases to the barest minimum and even stop them, and will in turn, improve the health of the benefiting communities.

He, however, warned the players in the industry against going against laid-down statutory obligations as this will attract sanctions from the Federal Government.
