In an emotional Instagram post on Tuesday morning, Malik thanked Davido for honouring the promise made to him after the passing of his father and for consistently being there for him.
Malik acknowledged Davido’s unwavering support, recounting instances where the singer consoled him during difficult times, speaking to him with paternal care.
“Dad, I am writing this from the bottom of my heart. Keeping a promise is one of the hardest things in life. You promised to help me since I lost my father. You never rejected me; you loved me just the way a father should love his child,” Malik expressed in his note.
He continued to express gratitude for Davido’s genuine concern, referring to him as someone to cry to, someone who cares, and someone who loves him.
In the comment section of the post, Malik added that the public might not fully comprehend the depth of Davido’s impact on his life, saying, “I swear y’all don’t understand what he has done for me.”
