Minister of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Nyesom Wike, Simi Fubara, Governor of Rivers State and Seyi Makinde, Governor of Oyo State, have requested that foreign investors put their respective states into consideration when looking for places to invest in Nigeria, News About Nigeria reports.
Wike, Fubara, and Makinde made this call during the inauguration of Hypercity 3, a Nigerian chain store, in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State, on Friday.
Wike, while speaking at the inauguration, appealed to foreign investors to also consider the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, the nation’s capital, when deciding on the locations to set up businesses.
The FCT minister assured the investors of adequate lands and a conducive environment to ensure they thrive in the territory and contribute to the development of the nation’s capital.
Wike noted that the unemployment ravaging Nigerian youths could not be tackled by the government alone, maintaining that the inputs of the private sector were crucial.
In the same vein, Simi Fubara, the Governor of Rivers State, expressed his satisfaction in being present at the inauguration of the Nigerian chain store in Port Harcourt, noting that it was in line with the desire of his administration, which is to uplift the development of the State based on consolidation.
Fubara added that the store was an addition to the economy of Rivers State.
Makinde added that he would provide the investors with free lands and tax holidays, noting that as the gateway of the Southwestern part of Nigeria, it would boost the economy of Oyo State.
