Governor Ademola Adeleke has been sued by aggrieved members of dissolved agencies in Osun State, demanding that he pay N2 billion.

News About Nigeria reports that the members of the four recently disbanded statutory commissions in Osun State filed a 2 billion naira suit against Adeleke before the National Industrial Court in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Recall that Adeleke, on the 30th of October, announced the dissolution of four statutory commissions in Osun State, including the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission; Osun State Judicial Service Commission; Osun State Civil Service Commission; and Osun State House of Assembly Service Commission. New boards were inaugurated for the commissions on Monday.

However, members of the disbanded commissions have filed four separate suits contending the fact that they were sacked before the completion of their five-year tenure, which should have ended in 2025.

Each of the four separate suits is demanding N500 million in damages against the governor.

The dismissed commissions, in a suit filed through their counsel, Muhydeen Adeoye, insist that the court declare the dissolution of the commissions and the refusal to pay salaries and other emoluments due to them as illegal.

Joining the governor as defendants in the suit are the Osun State Attorney General, the Commissioner for Finance, and the state House of Assembly.

The sacked OSSIEC Chairman, Segun Oladitan, and six members in one of the suits pleaded with the court to constrain Governor Adeleke into reinstating them to their offices and allowing them to serve out their five-year tenure, which would end by 2025.
