The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, has said that the re-election of Governor Hope Uzodimma in Imo State and the continuation of the Party’s leadership in Kogi state through Usman Ododo’s win in Saturday’s poll shows that Nigerians are happy with the APC, News About Nigeria reports.

Ganduje, who said this in a statement released on Sunday night by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, congratulated Governor Uzodimma of Imo State on his re-election in the Saturday off-cycle governorship poll in the state and also expressed his joy over the massive support the party got in Kogi State through the election of Ododo as Governor after Yahaya Bello’s eight years in office.

He also noted that their victories in Saturday’s poll show that the people of Imo and Kogi State, respectively, are satisfied with the dividends of democracy by Uzodimma and the outgoing Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello.

The National Chairman of the ruling party further stated that the massive win APC recorded in the off-cycle election also shows that Nigerians appreciate good governance and trust his party to continue delivering that.

In his words, “What gladdens me about the victory of the APC in both Kogi and Imo states is that Nigerians are appreciative of good governance and they want continuity in peace and sustainable growth in their states” he said.

Ganduje also disclosed that the APC as a progressive party will always live up to their promises to Nigerians, noting that they will continue to deliver the dividends of democracy and good governance to the people.

He also assured the people of Imo and Kogi states that they didn’t make the wrong decision as both Uzodimma and Ododo would deliver their promises to them.

The former Kano state Governor also called on members of opposition political parties in both states to accept their defeat in good faith, noting that they fought a good fight and there is always another time to try again.

He also urged them to partner with Governor Uzodimma and the incoming governor of Kogi State in order to move their states forward.
