The Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, on Monday congratulated Hope Uzodimma for his re-election as Governor of Imo State in the just-concluded governorship election held on Saturday, November 11, 2023.
Soludo, in a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, also charged Uzodimma to be magnanimous in victory by extending a hand of fellowship to his co-contesters.
The Anambra state governor further urged Uzodimma to see his victory as a win for the people of Imo state because they re-elected him to continue the work he started four years ago in the state.
He, therefore, urged him to allow the people to enjoy the dividends of democracy and good governance by delivering on all the promises he made to them before the election.
The Governor, who also expressed confidence that Uzodimma will continue to serve the people of Imo State, wished him well for another tenure in office.
Soludo further charged the Imo state Governor to partner with other South Eastern Governors in order to build the region.
He also urged opposition in the election to come together and support Uzodimma as he strives to deliver his promises to the people of Imo State.
News About Nigeria reports that the Returning Officer for the Imo off-cycle election held on Saturday, Prof. Abayomi Fasina, announced the results of the poll on Sunday morning.
Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress was announced the winner with a total of 540,308 votes to defeat his closest rival, Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party, who came second with a total of 71,503 votes.
