In a sombre announcement, the Secretariat of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide revealed the passing of their esteemed Spiritual Father and Chairman, Prophet Samuel Adefila Abidoye.

The Secretary-General, Special Apostle Ademola Odetundun, confirmed the heartbreaking news, stating that the revered clergyman breathed his last on Sunday morning around 10:00 a.m. at his residence in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara state.

News About Nigeria gathered that prophet Abidoye was 103 years old at the time of his demise.

According to Special Apostle Odetundun, the late Spiritual Father had partaken in his morning meal and was in the process of getting ready for a church service when he expressed a desire to take a brief rest.

However, it was during this interval that he peacefully transitioned. The Secretariat also mentioned that details regarding the final rites and burial arrangements would be communicated to the public at a later date.

The remains of the Spiritual Father have been conveyed to a mortuary in the state capital, marking the beginning of the mourning period for the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide.

Prophet Samuel Adefila Abidoye, fondly known as Baba Aladura, was born on June 26 in Omu Aran, Irepodun Local Government of Kwara State.

His father, Odetundun Abegunde, served as the Oba Olomu of Omu Aran, while his mother, Tinuade Tinuola, hailed from the lineage of Niniola, a princess of Oponda in the present Isin Local Government of Kwara State.

His spiritual journey commenced around 1938 when he was introduced to the Cherubim and Seraphim Church by Senior Apostle Prophet Peter Oyinloye.

Following his conversion, Baba Samuel Abidoye underwent catechism memorisation and was granted the divine grace of encountering Lord Jesus Christ in his dreams and trances, a profound experience that occurred in 1958.

Among his significant accomplishments, members of the church highlighted the relocation of the church’s headquarters from Kaduna to Galilee in Orile-Igbon, Oyo state, which has since flourished into a mega city.
