Two persons have reportedly died, and 10 others injured in an auto crash along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
News About Nigeria gathered that the accident, which involved fourteen persons, took place on Friday, November 10, at 08: 32 am, leaving ten injured, two unhurt and two losing their lives.
Spokesperson, Ogun FRSC sector command, Florence Okpe, who confirmed the incident, made it known that two vehicles were involved in the crash, an unregistered Howo Sino truck with blue and white colour and a white Mazda bus, with registration number XV945EPE, could have been avoided.
According to her, the crash, which occurred at the Kare inward section of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, was caused by the reckless driving of both drivers and the violation of route conditions, leading to the collision.
She further noted that injured victims were taken to Famobis Hospital, where they were receiving treatment and the dead bodies were deposited at Idera mortuary.
The State Sector Commander of FRSC, Anthony Uga, however, warned the public against reckless driving.
The commander also urged the public, especially drivers, recommending that the drivers drive with caution and a lot of care, especially as we approach the festive season when lots of people will be on the road, and avoid driving against traffic (one way), sticking to the rules as this, according to him, was going to protect both their lives and the lives of other road users.
He reiterated the commitment of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, to establishing a safer driving environment and providing safer services.
