Stop Throwing Epic Tantrums — Former Presidential Candidate Tells Obi, Atiku

Adewole Adebayo, the Social Democratic Party’s (SDP) nominee for president in the 2023 elections, has encouraged Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to cease attributing their defeat on the court and to stop throwing epic tantrums.

In a post on the X platform, Adebayo argued that both Atiku and Obi should quit throwing tantrums since they lost the elections.

According to him, the defeat of the two candidates in the 2023 elections does not allow them to weaken the nation’s institutions.

The SDP candidate reminded his PDP and LP rivals that they had benefited greatly from the legal and judicial systems and should not disrespect national institutions out of personal grief.

“The Courts Are Not To Blame. @atiku and @PeterObi, who have gained much from our legal system and judiciary should not because of personal disappointment, throw epic tantrums to undermine sacred national institutions. To forget the past because of the present is to forgo the future”, Adewole wrote on his X social media platform.

News About Nigeria noted that Adebayo’s remark follows Obi’s statement made on Monday at a global news conference, where he held the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Supreme Court accountable for their respective roles in the 2023 elections that resulted in President Bola Tinubu’s victory.

Obi charged that INEC was acting incompetently and that the Supreme Court was being trivially dismissive of President Tinubu’s charges of identity theft and forgery.

During the World Press Conference, Peter Obi also urged his supporters to remain steadfast in their hope for a New Nigeria and that the Supreme Court ruling is not the end.
