The Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 25th election, Atiku Abubakar, has congratulated Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan on her victory at the Appeal Court.
The former vice president praised Natasha, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial district, for her relentless, bold, and courageous fight that led to her victory at the Appeal Court.
According to him, Senator Natasha is a woman of remarkable character and an example for other women in politics aspiring to achieve great things.
Atiku also encouraged Natasha to keep the fire burning as she works in the Senate. He noted that he, along with her constituents, looks forward to her robust engagements on the floor of the Nigerian Senate.
Atiku expressed these sentiments in a post on his official social media account, saying, “Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan is an excellent example of a woman in politics. She is bold and courageous. Her determined fight to reclaim her seat in the Senate is a testament to her remarkable character.
“Congratulations to you, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. I also join your constituents in eagerly anticipating your robust engagements on the floor of the Nigerian Senate,” he added.
News About Nigeria reported that the Appeal Court affirmed the judgment of the election tribunal, which declared Natasha of the PDP as the validly elected senator of Kogi State Central.
The court, therefore, upheld the nullification of Abubakar Sadiku-Ohere of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who had been previously declared the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
