With only two years and six months till the Anambra state gubernatorial election, there are strong signs of a scheme to derail Governor Charles Soludo’s second-term aspirations.
News About Nigeria gathered this is the culmination of an internal cold war inside the ranks of Soludo Support Group (SSG), one of the major campaign organisations that saw the governor’s triumph in the recent election.
According to a source who spoke to New Telegraph, the conflict has pitted the organisation’s creator and Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief of Protocol to Soludo, Chinedu Nwoye, against three top members of the group who the governor’s assistant claims are intending to fight against their principal’s second-term aspirations.
Nwoye told reporters that the three members are battling the governor tooth and nail because they say the governor did not grant them political jobs or contracts as a “settlement.”
Nwoye highlighted that the general public, particularly fellow members of SSG, should be wary of the three individuals who are using the group’s name to deceive innocent persons into thinking they are working for the governor.
He claims that, in contrast, they are not working for him but are actively plotting his downfall through anti-SSG operations.
Chidi Okoye Ogazi, Charles Ebulue, and Arinzechukwu Awogu, he alleged, are the “three former members” working against Soludo’s government.
He claimed that the above-mentioned trio had established a battle line between themselves and the governor since Soludo had forgotten them with political appointments and other favours.
He claimed that one of the three members, Ebulue, came out openly and worked against the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) during the state’s House of Assembly and Federal House of Representatives elections, claiming that his anti-APGA activities were motivated by Soludo’s refusal to appoint him.
”This interview is to present the facts and also to save the vulnerable and people who may be ignorant of the fact that Chidi Okoye Ogazi from Enugwu-Agidi, Charles Ebulue from Osumenyi and Arinzechukwu Awogu from Ogbaru are deceiving people that they are Soludo Support Group members.
“Yes. There were members, but having checked their activities in the past two years, I discovered that they are clandestinely working against Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.”
As a result, Nwoye reaffirmed the need for the disclaimer, adding that no one should interact with the three musketeers as SSG members wherever on the earth since they do not support Soludo.
