According to the statement, the agency’s General Manager, Mr Bolaji Oreagba, explained that the cases against the officials have been investigated and they would proceed to the phase which involves the disciplinary panel.

Oreagba also added that the officials would not be spared for committing such act because the agency is committed towards getting rid of individuals tarnishing the their reputation.

The statement reads in part: “The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr Bolaji Oreagba, disclosed that these affected officers whose cases have been investigated would be facing a government disciplinary committee known as the Personnel Management Board which would adjudicate their cases in line with the Public Service Rules.”

The agency’s general manager further stated that they would continue to mete out stiff and severe punishment on officers who act contrary to the law because they are out to ensure that they rid the agency of the “bad elements” tarnishing their image.

He further charged residents of the state, especially the motoring public, to join in the fight against such officers by refusing to give them money when they demand it and to also report such officers at the nearest LASTMA offices or use any of the agency’s complaints hotlines with evidence.
