President Tinubu Presides Over FEC Meeting After Six Weeks

Smart Adeyemi, a chieftain of the Ruling All Progressives Congress, has revealed that President Bola Tinubu will dismiss ministers who fail to perform in the first six months of their appointment.

He made this disclosure while appearing on Channels TV Politics Today on Wednesday night. The former representative of Kogi West in the 9th Senate explained that President Tinubu is in a hurry to make a difference and, therefore, does not have the patience to work with non-performing ministers.

“What Nigerians should know about President Bola Tinubu today, including those who are ministers, is that based on his track record, if you don’t perform in six months, he shows you the way out. That’s what he’s going to do. The man (Tinubu) is in a hurry to make a difference. Asiwaju wants to make a name, reposition Nigeria, and recover lost ground for the nation,” Adeyemi said.

News About Nigeria reports that Adeyemi also addressed the drama that transpired on Tuesday between Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Chief Whip Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume.

During Tuesday’s plenary, Senator Ndume, the representative of Borno South, cited Order 54 of the standing rules to express his displeasure with the way Akpabio oversees Senate business.

Many had wondered why Ndume would be displeased with Akpabio, despite belonging to the same political affiliation. In response to the dispute, Adeyemi characterized Senate President Akpabio as a harmless man and clarified that members of the 10th Assembly are still getting used to their new roles.
