Wizkid Bids Farewell To Mother In Star-studded Funeral

Wizkid and his family paid their final respects to their late mother, Mrs Jane Morayo Balogun (JP), on Friday, October 13.

News About Nigeria reported that she passed away on August 18, 2023, in London.

The post-burial event turned out to be a star-studded affair, with the presence of renowned celebrities like Wande Coal, Tiwa Savage, D’banj, Mercy Eke, Morey Faith, Eniola Badmus, and Kim Oprah gracing the occasion.

Additionally, the event received a touch of sophistication as high-profile dignitaries such as K1 De Ultimate, Tony Elumelu, and Oba Ademola Elegushi made their presence felt.

In honour of their mother, the family held a moving candlelight service the night before the funeral, during which emotional moments were shared among Wizkid, his sons, and talent manager, Jada P.

Videos from the funeral rite service and ceremony made their rounds on the internet, giving fans a glimpse into the singer’s touching moments with his loved ones.

Cynthia Morgan had earlier expressed her disappointment over the absence of several fellow artistes, including Davido and Tiwa Savage, at the burial ceremony of Wizkid’s late mother.

In a social media post, Cynthia Morgan wrote, “Not one male or female colleague of Wiz is at his mum’s burial. Nawa.”
