The winner of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) season 7, Josephine Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has responded to allegations made by her father, Felix Otabor, regarding her alleged abandonment of her family.
Earlier, News About Nigeria reported that Phyna’s father spoke in an interview with Vanguard, expressing his distress over his daughter’s perceived neglect.
He claimed that since her emergence as the BBNaija Season 7 winner, she has not been in contact with her family, refusing to answer their calls.
He also mentioned that she had advised him to stop working as a hearse driver.
In response to the reports, Phyna took to the microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter) to share her perspective.
She accused Vanguard of harassment through texts and calls, as well as intrusive questioning.
Phyna narrated an incident where she had inadvertently answered a call from one of Vanguard’s representatives who began asking questions immediately.
She expressed her frustration with the journalist and ended the call. Subsequently, the journalist apologised via text.
Phyna concluded her post by stating her intention to pursue legal action against Vanguard, implying that their actions had caused her distress and portrayed her family in a negative light.
She wrote: “I think it’s time for me to sue this useless vanguard, they’ve been tormenting me with texts and calls. I mistakenly picked one of the numbers 4days back immediately, I said hello, the useless man just said he was Ben Njoku from Vanguard and the next thing this bastard started asking questions.
“I just asked him how could call me and start questioning me immediately I then ended, and he texted me immediately that he was so sorry.
“Now you went back to your cupboard to say your father is crying your mother gave him a bastard son? Vanguard will crumble.”
