Nigerian singer, Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has said that his decision to pursue a career in music instead of dancing was primarily driven by his financial aspirations, News About Nigeria gathered.

The artiste, also known as ‘Mr Money’, clarified in a recent interview that he chose music over dancing because he was uncertain if dancing alone could provide him with the level of financial success he desired.

In his own words, Asake stated, “The main reason why I left dance is for the love of money. I know I want to be very honest. Dance is something that I love. I can’t even do without moving, but I feel like the kind of money I want, I’m not sure dance can give me.”

News About Nigeria reports that he also mentioned that integrating music and dance complements each other in the entertainment industry.

He added, “I think both music and dance work together because in a video without a dancer, it’s like this song is boring. Even if you want to make it so gangster-like and there are so many people bumping, you still need to use the dancers. So, as they work together, I think for the love of money, I’d rather be singing.”

When asked if he would consider pursuing dancing again if it brought significant success, Asake responded that he would choose to do both simultaneously, maximising his potential to earn more money.

He humorously stated, “No, I would join music and dance together so I will have more money.”

Asake, a Dramatic Arts graduate, had initially studied dance and even aimed to build a career in it during his younger years.

However, his desire for financial stability eventually led him to embrace a career as a singer while still incorporating his first love, dancing, into his performances.
