Nigerian singer and activist Seun Kuti has pointed out that poverty is playing a big role in the narrative surrounding Mohbad’s birth.

News About Nigeria reported that the singer died on September 12 and was buried the next morning, much to the disapproval of many.

His father was called out for hastily burying his son without waiting for a comprehensive investigation to be carried out to ascertain the death of the singer.

Appearing as a guest on the ‘Honest Bunch’ podcast, Seun Kuti slammed those criticizing Mr Aloba for burying his son quickly.

According to him, Nigerian business magnate Femi Otedola would have been praised if he had done the same thing Mohbad father did and people would have paid him a condolence visit.

“This Mohbad issue, poverty is playing a big role in the narrative. People are saying that Mohbad’s father killed him because he buried his son early. Who would love to look at his son’s dead buried for three days?

“If it was Otedola’s child that died and he buried him overnight, what would people have said? They would have paid him a condolence visit.

“Instead of us to console the man; because he is poor, we have made him the evil that can kill his son. Someone who just lost his child. Do you like the son more than him? They’ve been bullying the boy all these days, you didn’t say anything.”
