Police Warn Against Abducting Officers During Traffic Stops

Spokesperson of the Nigerian Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi has tasked those organizing candlelight processions in honour of late musician Mohbad to rechannel their funds towards launching a founding in honour of the deceased singer.

Making this suggestion in a tweet on Saturday, Mr Adejobi while reacting to a now-viral video of one of the candlelight processions held to honour the late singer warned that plans to use the procession to throw the nation into anarchy would not work.

“Is this still a candlelight procession? Was she actually mourning Mohbad? Actions speak. I think those who are sponsoring these so-called processions should have rethink and gather their money to launch a foundation in honour of Mohbad, if they mean business. This incident won’t snowball to any anarchy in Nigeria. If that’s their plan or game. It won’t work,” Mr Adejobi wrote.

His comment comes a few days after the members of the Nigerian police force allegedly opened fire on those who attended the candlelight procession organised in honour of the singer around the tollgate in Lekki.

Against many allegations, the police while debunking claims that it intimidated those that attended the peaceful procession explained that the organisers of the procession had agreed to end the event at 8:00 p.m.

The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police command, Benjamin Hundeyin explained that the police swung into action after some individuals converged under the guise of the candlelight procession to carry out other sinister activities.

News About Nigeria recalls that the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad had sparked outrage among Nigerians over the circumstances surrounding his passing.

However, since his demise, many Nigerians have continued to demand that the killers of the singer be brought to book.
