2027: Presidency Speaks On Distractions By Peter Obi, Obidients

A former presidential media aide, Reno Omokri, on Thursday, alleged that the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, in the February 25, 2023 election is a pawn that was used by the All Progressives Congress, APC, to ensure the People’s Democratic Party failed in the election.

News About Nigeria gathered that Reno Omokri said this in response to Obi’s supporters popularly known as, Obidients, who were insulting Wole Soyinka over the statement he made in South Africa on Wednesday.

Soyinka had said that the leadership of the LP knew that Peter Obi lost the February 25 election but were only trying to force “a lie” on Nigerians, especially youths, that Obi won the election.

According to Reno Omokri, the only reason Obi ran for President was to help President Bola Tinubu of the APC get an easy win in the election and in turn cause the failure of Atiku Abubakar of the PDP.

“The only purpose Mr. Obi served was to allow himself be deceived by the APC to split the PDP’s votes and hand an easy victory to President Bola Tinubu. In other words, he was a mere pawn. Deal with it.”

Reno Omokri urged Obi’s supporters to desist from insulting the Nobel laureate, who according to him, said nothing but the truth.

“What Professor Wole Soyinka said in South Africa is the obvious bitter truth. There is no controversy whatsoever. Peter Obi lost the election. Even before the election, Peter knew he would lose. He had a concentration of votes only in the Southeast, for ethnic reasons, and clusters in places where members of his ethnic group had migrated in large numbers.

“So, you guys ought to stop insulting Professor Soyinka. Your guy lost. Wake up. Smell the coffee. Stop drinking the Kool-Aid and accept reality,” Reno advised.
