APC Impoverished Nigerians – PDP National Secretary

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau state has slammed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for allegedly maligning the integrity and good image of the judiciary and the tribunal judges because they lost in the Election Petition Tribunal, News About Nigeria reports.

This was said in a statement signed by the APC’s publicity secretary, Hon. Slyvanus Namang.

The APC, therefore, warned the PDP from such as the judges of the election Tribunal deserve their respect as they were able to serve justice.

The Party expressed worry on the way and manner the Plateau State Chapter of the PDP has ignorantly assumed the role of the Judiciary in interpreting the law in the most subjectively and inappropriate way.

The statement reads in part: “It is needless to comment here that, by giving these jejune legal opinions and latching on to some irrelevant cases in the face of the avalanche of court judgements against it at the Jos High Courts, Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court, the PDP is only embarking on an exercise in futility.”

According to the APC, the judgements delivered by learned Justices B.M. Tukur, O. Elekwa, and A.O. Adetujoye on September 11 and 12, 2023, are nothing but correct interpretation of the law based on the facts and evidence before the tribunal.

The party also stated that the judgement of the court has also addressed the electoral fraud perpetrated by the PDP during the 2023 general elections, adding that justice has indeed been served and that this is a victory for democracy and the rule of law.

The party therefore advised the PDP to stop blackmailing and distracting the Tribunal from performing its role of adjudicating and arbitrating in electoral matters.
