FG Vows to Lift Nigerians Above Poverty

The newly appointed Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite affirmed to ensure that employment increases, and people are lifted out of poverty.

On Monday, the federal government pledged to end the poverty gap and boost the growth of small and medium-sized businesses as well as industries, News About Nigeria reports.

Not long after being sworn in by President Bola Tinubu on Monday, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite made this commitment.

The minister maintained her resolve to support the development of an environment that is conducive to business for indigenous enterprises, even as she pledged to draw in additional investments.

The government’s role, in her opinion, is to make sure that employment increases, that people are lifted out of poverty, and that small and medium-sized businesses and already-existing industries continue to grow and develop.

The minister further suggested that the country will be great even without mineral resources if the government harnessed human resources potentials.

“If we only just harnessed our human resource potential Nigeria will be great even without our mineral resources. Even without our non-mineral resources only our human capital alone is enough to take us where we want to,” she said

“Now combine that with the new potential we have with mineral and non-mineral deposits. I think it is just for us to open the doors and say investors please come what do you want, we are here to facilitate that,’’ she added.

Recall that President Bola Tinubu on Monday conducted the swearing-in ceremony of 45 ministers designates. At the conclusion of the inauguration, former Rivers governor who now serves as the minister of FCT vowed to take down buildings that doesn’t align with the Abuja master plan. he also revealed plans to stop open grazing at the capital terrirtory.
