2027: Presidency Speaks On Distractions By Peter Obi, Obidients

The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has called on the Bola Tinubu-led government to carry out a full-scale investigation to unravel the cause of the Nigerian Air Force MI-171 helicopter crash, News About Nigeria reports.

Making this call in a statement made available on his social media page on Thursday, Mr Obi who disclosed that he was deeply saddened by the development, said that the deplorable level of insecurity in most parts of the country had continued to cost precious lives.

“I am deeply saddened by the unfortunate crash of the Nigerian Air Force MI-171 Helicopter on a casualty evacuation mission, near Chukuba Village in Niger State. The deplorable level of insecurity in most parts of the country has continued to embarrass and cost us precious lives and properties, with the attendant economic costs,” Mr Obi said.
Further urging members of the Nigerian military to remain in high spirits, Mr. Obi condoled the families of soldiers that lost their lives in the crash.

“My heart is with the families of the gallant soldiers who lost their lives in that incident. I also sincerely commiserate with the Nigerian Air Force over this painful incident and urge them and other security agencies not to be and properties, with the attendant economic costs. My heart is with the families of the gallant soldiers who lost their lives in that incident,” he added.

His remarks come as the Nigerian government fights blatant security issues all around the nation. Taoreed Lagbaja, the freshly appointed chief of army staff, has already urged Nigerian Army soldiers to be steadfast in bringing the country’s enemies to their knees and restoring normalcy in difficult places throughout the country.
