Joshua V Helenius

The anticipation for the Anthony Joshua vs. Robert Helenius showdown escalated during the intense weigh-in before their much-anticipated battle on Saturday night, News About Nigeria gathered.

As both heavyweights stepped onto the scales, the tension was palpable and a heated exchange ensued during their face-off.

Joshua who registered a weight of 250lbs, the same as his weigh-in for the historic fight against Wladimir Klitschko in 2017, didn’t hold back in his verbal exchange with Helenius, who weighed in at 249.4lbs.

The two fighters locked eyes and Joshua directly questioned his opponent: “Have you got a problem with me?” He further emphasized their impending clash, stating, “Either we’re gonna fight now or we’re gonna fight tomorrow, either way, we’re gonna fight.”

Despite the intensity of Joshua’s challenge, Helenius, the 6ft 9ins man from Finland, seemed unfazed but focused, as he conveyed a simple yet impactful message to the fans, saying, “I’m here to upset.”

With his recent victory by third-round knockout in a fight held last weekend in a medieval castle in Finland, Helenius is entering the ring with newfound momentum, aiming to avoid another knockout loss like the one he suffered against Deontay Wilder.

Originally set to face Dillian Whyte, Joshua now has to adjust to a new opponent in Helenius, following the cancellation of the bout due to an ‘adverse finding’ from Whyte’s (Voluntary Anti-Doping Association) VADA testing.

Despite the change, Joshua is said to be focused on the task at hand, while being determined to secure a victory in this matchup.
