Lawal Michael Nasiru Bolaji, a well-known Nigerian skit-maker and singer, popularly known as Nasboi, has disclosed the reason behind his career’s start, where he began by mimicking the famous artist Davido.
News About Nigeria gathered that he explained that he mimicked the DMW boss to draw attention to himself.
In a recent interview on MTV Base Naija 10, the comedian revealed that his aim was to gain Davido’s attention and exhibit his musical skills to him.
Nasboi rose to fame in the Nigerian entertainment industry as “Low Budget OBO.”
He said, “I started off mimicking Davido. So, the plan was to get David’s attention for my music. I disturbed this guy till he invited me one day and I started playing my music.”
On why he became a skit maker, Nasboi said, “It [my mimics of Davido] started looking like cruise to everybody. So, I said, okay, let’s jump on it. That’s how I jumped on it and it started looking like it demanded for me to start making skits. So, I had no option than to make skits.”
Meanwhile, A woman from Ghana, known only as Sally Akosua, has come forward claiming that her daughter’s father is Afrobeats sensation, Davido.
In a TikTok video, she shared images of herself, her child, and a portrait of Davido while alleging that the singer abandoned them.
Akosua admitted that she does not have concrete evidence to support her claims as their relationship was a one-night stand.
On June 27, Anita Brown, the US-based lady, accused the singer of refusing to take responsibility after impregnating her.
